(Average 0 of 0 Ratings)

Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvellous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara National Park, the Rift floor and Mt. Losimingori.  Behind Kirurumu, the NgoroNgoro Conservation Area Highlands rise in green and fertile splendour and form the gateway to NgoroNgoro Conservation Area Crater and, finally, Olduvai Gorge, the Serengeti National Park.

The 27 secluded double tents of the camp are set among indigenous bush high on the escarpment. Spacious thatch-roof tents, each with its own veranda, are built on wooden platforms with great views overlooking Lake Manyara. Gaily decorated with animal-motif furnishings, woven straw mats, and carved bedside lamps, all tents have an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and ceramic hand basins. Larger family tents are also available.

The honeymoon tent is very romantic, with a wide wooden bed under voluminous nets. Its positioned outside the Park and that means Kirurumu is free from Park rules. The lodge specializes in botanical walks through the surrounding bush with Maasai guides to describe the medicinal uses of plants. The many resident bird species will delight watchers, and a watering hole and extensive bird list help you spot and name them.
